What about your freedom?

My daughter is home.

She got in yesterday, done with her freshman year at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Pre-law, 3.885 GPA, a clean apartment, a pile of friends, zero arrests. I'll take it.

She's my only child. I'm an only child too. We're stupidly close, and I have missed her all year.

Half of you just said "my kids are home" in your head with a grin. The other half said it with a groan, four kids, out of school, underfoot until August. Both are true. Running a business while raising humans is hard, full stop.

I love my daughter more than my own life. I also have a friend, Maria. No husband, no kids, making bank, flying first class wherever she wants, whenever she wants. Some days I look at that life and think, damn, that doesn't look so bad.

Would I trade? No. Not for a second. I'm grateful for my husband, my daughter, and my nine year old dog Holly, who still acts like a puppy.

Here's what I want you to sit with this week. Our real freedom is choice. Married or single. Kids or no kids. Marathon training or cotton candy for breakfast. Employee or owner. It's a choice, every time.

I mentor women on this constantly, and I'll be blunt. I have no patience for a woman who spends years complaining about a life she has never tried to change. Choice is sitting right there.

Life gets hard, I know. There are seasons where you put your own wants on hold, to pay bills, care for someone, fix your health. That's real. But the choice comes back around. When it does, grab it. Bet on yourself. Build the life you actually want, not the one everyone else expects of you.

This weekend, we celebrate our country's freedom. Make sure to grab onto and celebrate your own.

πŸ› οΈ Use This Tool

Claude

This week's blog sorts AI into "thinking tools." Claude is the one we think in. We use it to draft, plan, research, and run this whole business. It's also from the company that built MCP, the universal plug the blog talks about, so it can actually run your other tools for you. The free plan is plenty to start.

P.S. "I don't have time right now." I hear it every week. You don't need more time. You need one room full of women who've already solved the thing you're stuck on. That's one hour a week that hands you back five. Come see for yourself.

$10,000 an hour
I charge $10,000 an hour to speak in person. I feel exhilarated saying that out loud. That's $166.66 per minute. One minute of work pays for a 90-minute massage. That is so cool. The least I've ever made speaking is $0. The most I've made in a single afternoon is $17,500 plus travel and expenses for my husband and me. Growing up without much money, those numbers sound wild. But I've spoken in 8...
I'm tired.
Hi friendπŸ‘‹ I cried a little bit this afternoon. Levi put me to bed with Holly for a nap. An hour later I woke up, felt human again, and recorded my third podcast of the day. Starting a new company is hard. Starting two at the same time is kind of stupid. I'm an entrepreneur with 34 years of experience, and I did it anyway. I'm pretty sure it wasn't smart. On June 1st, The Braless Entrepreneur w...
Scared? Do it anyway!
The time had finally come. I was scared out of my mind. We launched our first free workshop this week on how to build 30 days of social content in one hour. I wanted people to walk away wild with what they'd created. And they did. I watched their faces. I saw what they turned out. It worked. Then came the moment I'd been dreading. I had to pitch them on a paid masterclass. What if nobody bought...
