What about your freedom?
My daughter is home.
She got in yesterday, done with her freshman year at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Pre-law, 3.885 GPA, a clean apartment, a pile of friends, zero arrests. I'll take it.
She's my only child. I'm an only child too. We're stupidly close, and I have missed her all year.
Half of you just said "my kids are home" in your head with a grin. The other half said it with a groan, four kids, out of school, underfoot until August. Both are true. Running a business while raising humans is hard, full stop.
I love my daughter more than my own life. I also have a friend, Maria. No husband, no kids, making bank, flying first class wherever she wants, whenever she wants. Some days I look at that life and think, damn, that doesn't look so bad.
Would I trade? No. Not for a second. I'm grateful for my husband, my daughter, and my nine year old dog Holly, who still acts like a puppy.
Here's what I want you to sit with this week. Our real freedom is choice. Married or single. Kids or no kids. Marathon training or cotton candy for breakfast. Employee or owner. It's a choice, every time.
I mentor women on this constantly, and I'll be blunt. I have no patience for a woman who spends years complaining about a life she has never tried to change. Choice is sitting right there.
Life gets hard, I know. There are seasons where you put your own wants on hold, to pay bills, care for someone, fix your health. That's real. But the choice comes back around. When it does, grab it. Bet on yourself. Build the life you actually want, not the one everyone else expects of you.
This weekend, we celebrate our country's freedom. Make sure to grab onto and celebrate your own.

π οΈ Use This Tool
Claude
This week's blog sorts AI into "thinking tools." Claude is the one we think in. We use it to draft, plan, research, and run this whole business. It's also from the company that built MCP, the universal plug the blog talks about, so it can actually run your other tools for you. The free plan is plenty to start.

P.S. "I don't have time right now." I hear it every week. You don't need more time. You need one room full of women who've already solved the thing you're stuck on. That's one hour a week that hands you back five. Come see for yourself.
